Recommended Feeding Dosage Guidelines
The general recommended dosage of bovine colostrum powder is 1/4 teaspoon (approximately 0.5–1 g) per 5 kg of body weight. Because immunoglobulin concentrations vary by product, always follow the weight-based feeding instructions on the product label first. For better absorption, administer on an empty stomach, mixed with water or food. When starting, begin with half the recommended dose and gradually increase it over the course of a week. Since cats are smaller, it is safer to start with less than half the dosage recommended for dogs.

Criteria for Choosing a Good Colostrum Product
Colostrum supplements vary widely in quality between brands. Be sure to check the following criteria before purchasing: - IgG content labeling: Choose products that clearly state an IgG content of at least 20%. - Low-heat processing: High-temperature processing can destroy immune-boosting components, so opt for low-heat processed options. - Collection timing: Colostrum collected within 24 hours after birth, known as "first-milk colostrum," is the best choice. - Country of origin and farm management standards: Ingredients sourced from farms that do not use hormones or antibiotics are safer. It's best to avoid low-cost products with unclear ingredient labels.
