Dog cafés are spaces where many different dogs gather, so basic manners and health preparations are essential. We’ve compiled a handy checklist covering everything from pre-visit checks to on-site etiquette and important precautions.

| Item | Good Manners | Behavior Requiring Caution |
|---|---|---|
| Before Entering | Bring proof of vaccination and deworming | Trying to substitute with a verbal statement without proof |
| First Greeting | Keep the leash on and ask the other guardian's consent | Letting the dog off immediately and rushing at other dogs |
| Treats | Quietly feed only your own dog | Giving treats to other dogs without permission |
| Elimination | Clean up immediately and disinfect the ground | Leaving it, claiming you didn't notice |
| Aggression Signals | Separate immediately when growling or stiffening | Mistaking it for play and just watching |
Based on veterinary behavioral science textbooks and clinical standards from animal hospitals.

When to Separate Dogs Immediately
If you notice any of the following signs, the interaction is shifting from play to conflict. Immediately pick up your dog or separate them with a leash. - The body becomes stiff and the tail stands straight up. - One dog mounts the other and does not dismount. - Teeth are bared while emitting a low growl. - One dog continuously flees and hides in a corner. - The hair on the back and neck stands on end. Dismissing these behaviors by saying, "That's just how my dog is," can lead to actual bite incidents.

Extra Caution for Dogs with Weakened Immunity
Puppies under four months of age, dogs receiving immunosuppressants, and senior dogs with chronic conditions face a relatively higher risk of infection in environments where multiple dogs gather. Young puppies who have not yet completed their initial vaccination series may be vulnerable to contagious diseases such as parvovirus and canine distemper. Therefore, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian before visiting and scheduling your appointment only after vaccinations are sufficiently complete. It is also considerate to other dogs to postpone your visit if your dog is not feeling well or has experienced vomiting or diarrhea in the past few days.
